Collodion is poured directly on a black aluminum plate, the plate itself is sensitized, exposed, developed and fixed. Exposure times vary from 1-15s, depending on the light situation – especially depending on the UV component of the light, because collodion is sensitive especially in visible blue light and in UV light.
Eyes change color, movement can create a blur, and soul images emerge.
The examples shown here were created on plate sizes from 4×5″ to 40x50cm. If you want to book a portrait session, here is more info.
